A bit about me

I have a Diploma in Integrative Counselling. This means I can tailor the service offered to your specific needs. I have experience in several modalities including Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Addiction Therapy.

As a Registered Member of the BACP, I ensure I adhere to their Ethical Framework for Counselling & Psychotherapy.

I am committed to ongoing professional development and as such, I have just completed a Diploma in Addiction Therapy.

As required by the BACP, I take regular supervision with a highly experienced BACP registered supervisor.

I hold a Current Enhanced DBS, Insurance and I am registered with the ICO.

Relevant Experience

I decided to become a Counsellor based on my own personal experience of therapy. After having children, I felt that I wanted a new direction in life so I re-trained and went back to college which, surprisingly to me, I thoroughly enjoyed.

I completed my placement at a national mental health charity where I practiced with clients from all walks of life with various issues. This experience really helped to broaden my knowledge in different areas and taught me about the need to have a flexible approach with people.

As well as my own Private Practice, I also work as a Bank Therapist for one of the U.K’s leading acute mental healthcare hospitals for the treatment of Addictions, Depression, Anxiety and Eating Disorders. Previous to this I was a volunteer Peer Supporter there for 4 years supporting people in addiction.

All the above experience has influenced my approach to therapeutic counselling.

I look forward to working with you, whether that be to help you process your emotions, develop coping skills, or finding a way to move forward along your journey of life.
